ATHLETIC TRAINING EDUCATION PROGRAM
The Greenboro College Athletic Training Education Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) to award an entry-level undergraduate curriclum and is designed for students pursuing certification by the Board of Certification, Inc. (BOC) as an athletic trainer.
Our program seeks to develop committed, caring and highly skilled allied health care professionals through a balanced emphasis on the liberal arts, professional education and clinical practice.

Certified athletic trainers are health care professionals who
specialize in preventing, recognizing, managing and rehabilitating
injuries that result from physical activity. As part of a complete health care team, the certified athletic trainer works under the direction of a licensed physician and in cooperation with other health care professionals, athletics administrators, coaches and parents. Certified athletic trainers can be found almost anywhere people are physically active. More information about athletic training can be found at the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) website - www.nata.org
As a traditional four-year undergraduate program, students progress through a series of pre-admission courses during their first year and five clinical education courses during the final three years of the program. Complete information about the academic program can be found by reading the Academic Catalog, the description of the clinical eduation program, and the Greensboro College Athletic Training Student Handbook, which is distributed to all incoming students in their AT classes.
